Lunch Stop · Polperro, Cornwall
A Fishing Village Frozen in Time
Tumbling down a steep valley to a tiny, perfectly preserved harbour, Polperro is the kind of Cornish village that looks almost too pretty to be real — whitewashed cottages, narrow lanes too small for cars, and fishing boats bobbing in the tiny harbour below. It's a gentle downhill walk to the water (and a slightly firmer uphill walk back, so pace yourself), with plenty of cosy pubs and cafés for lunch along the way.
👀Beware the seagulls! Polperro's gulls are famously bold and have been known to swoop in on an unguarded chip or pasty. Keep an eye on your lunch, and maybe don't eat with food held too high or too exposed — you've been warned!
